Moon Sweepers, the co-op space cleanup game from DragDrop Games, has sold more than 600,000 copies in its first few days. Its concurrent player count has been gradually growing over the weekend and stood at 80,385 and was still climbing at the time of the report. Despite the milestone, the developer said it is "just getting started."

DragDrop said the response exceeded its expectations for a game built around cleaning the Moon with a toothbrush. In Moon Sweepers, a crew is assigned to clear the Moon of Lunar Dust. Budget constraints mean that after travel costs and basic survival tools, the team can only afford a toothbrush. Collecting dust earns funds for upgrades, starting with a bigger broom and progressing to larger and more flexible brushes and eventually a sweeper truck. Players can then place solar panels, buildings, and conveyor belts, turning manual work into a growing operation.

The studio said it has been fixing bugs and improving the game since launch while preparing "something much bigger." That project is update 1.1, which is intended to add more depth, particularly to the late game. Planned additions include new production machines and chains, additional materials and products that require more complex production lines, extra tools and upgrades, more automation at a larger scale, further building options and improvements, and expanded progression. DragDrop is also working on performance and optimization as bases become bigger and more complex.

Update 1.1 is set to launch in December. DragDrop also addressed what happens after players clean the entire Moon, saying: "Spoiler alert: more work." The studio said it has exciting plans for what comes after but is not ready to reveal them, teasing that cleaning the Moon might only be the beginning of the player's career.

The developer said it is "nowhere near finished" with Moon Sweepers, is still reading feedback every day to decide what to improve next, and continues to fix bugs. It said it is working to deliver updates as quickly as possible and thanked players for a launch it will never forget.
