League of Legends patch 26.22 makes a notable change to Mel: her W no longer sends projectiles back at their source, instead destroying them. The ability previously let her reflect attacks such as Blitzcrank’s hook or Yasuo’s whirlwind, giving her a distinctive defensive tool in fights.

The change removes part of what set Mel apart, though the update is described as a change to her kit rather than simply a nerf. The source notes that her win rate has been fairly low for some time, while concerns about playing against her have focused on the limited warning from her Q and the damage her ultimate can build up through stacks.

Patch 26.22 also brings a standalone client for Teamfight Tactics. Players can opt out of downloading TFT to save storage space. The game is set to receive cosmetics and TFT-exclusive Little Legends in December.

ARAM Mayhem is also being adjusted, with the team aiming to reduce heavy snowballing. The changes include reducing the effectiveness of tanks, which can combine high durability and substantial damage with the right augments.
